    What you said about punk is so true. I just did a gig a Kimo’s in San Francisco, and it was the closest I’ve ever got to the pit. The bass amp was tits(belong to another band…hartke). But just, they were playing Rancid in between bands, and you just wanted to sk8. Until that night, I truely didn’t get punk at all. Thanks for talking it up.

    Overall I agree …
    Overall I agree with what you’ve said. Cliff was an advanced bass player for the time he lived in, and I’m positive now 20+ years after his death he would have honed his skills, advanced his techniques and helped pave the way for a bigger role of bassists in bands.

    I really disagreed …
    I really disagreed with Cliff Burton been a god. He was a average-skilled bass player with technique limitations. On the other hand, Cliff really shines on his composition. He was a more of a composer than a bass player. The orchestration that you mention is very good but that only shows his great composition ability and not his bass technique.

    Cliff Burton was a god. Have you heard the orchestral version of Orion? Go take a look, its epic. It proves that Cliffs music doesn’t need distortion to sound ic. Punk is just noise and talentless vocals thrown together. The only way punk changed music was by influencing Cliff, the Misfits being his favorite band. Consider yourself educated..

    ur one of these lil guys that like to slag everything arent u… then dont watch a flea video if u dont like him.. doesnt that make sense? and its hardly about the slap and pop… he plays just as much fingerstyle as he does slap… if not more… he knows no theory.. self taught and inspired millions of young kids to just do it! so away and listen to your bullshit grunge metal or what ever makes u feel mature! and leave a comment on that!

    pfft, everyone think’s Flea’s the greatest just becuase he can play ‘slap and pop’. gawd, even Fieldy from Korn does a better job at that!

    well i suppose it’s easy for people to regard his as talented, considering he’s the only member of RHCP with any musical talent!
