These guys have revolutionized Music Videos by not only making them affordable but fast and easy as well. In fact right now you can make short videos for free because they are still in Beta. The short video below took me about ten minutes to create from pictures I already had and music From the library of Animoto. In the music industry today Social Networking is the #1 technique for getting your songs heard. Let’s face it, the internet is here to stay. If your a musician and your not using any of these social networking websites then you are leaving a lot on the table. A network is viral, it’s like a train. Once it is in motion it’s hard to stop. Momentum in music is a powerful thing if you can harness it. Through social networking you can create your own community of like minded people. Friend Feed, Twitter, My Space, U-tube, And Facebook are just a few of the hundreds if not thousands of places you can network.The best thing is it’s free.

This is advertising at it’s best. However free is a relative term, if you consider time as money then it’s not free at all. In fact it can turn out to be quite time consuming. Don’t let that scare you though, most people I know really enjoy it. Musicians@Google: Lemony Snicket & Nathaniel Stookey

Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket) and Nathaniel Stookey visit Google’s Mountain View, CA headquarters to discuss their book and symphonic piece “The Composer Is Dead.” This event took place on April 1, 2009, as part of the Musicians@Google series.

The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra commissioned “The Composer Is Dead”, for narrator and orchestra, to educate children about the symphony through a murder mystery. “The Composer Is Dead” borrows from the educational classical music tradition of “Peter and The Wolf”, adding a dash of “Law and Order” and the wry humor one would expect from the author of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Continuing our partnership with the San Francisco Symphony, the @Google program is pleased to welcome both the composer, Nathaniel Stookey, and the librettist, Lemony Snicket. They have each offered briefnotes on the piece:

“I have been asked if I might say a word or two about the text of The Composer Is Dead, and the one or two words are “Boo hoo.” The story — which, as far as I know, is absolutely true — is so heartbreakingly glum that I cannot imagine that you will be able to listen to it without dabbing at your tears with a nearby handkerchief.”

Open C – tuning – “Silent Night” Guitar lesson

Silent Night for beginners. This is so easy, honestly – you can nail it in couple of minutes. The melody is basically played on one string – okay – a couple of notes are played on second string – but it is very basic – like my playing. Guitar is tuned to open – C – from fattest string to thinnest -
C-G-C-G-C-E. 1st string does most of work, the rest is grace notes. Yes there is a barre on 5th fret, but do give it a try. Plenty of time to learn for Christmas.
Melody line startss on 3rd Fret – i.e. 3-5-3 -0/ 3-5-3-0 / 10-10-10-7 / 8-8-8-3 /
Barre 5th Frett (1 beat) then -5-7-5-5 / 3-5-3-0 / 10-10-10-13-10-7-8-12 /
then – 12-3-1-3-1- Seond string -2-0 / Good luck folks!
